Preparing for AEP: Review 2025 Medicare Advantage training resource; Plus, changes coming to Medicare Part D in 2025
August 27, 2024
Our 2025 Medicare Advantage (MA) training event is Wednesday, Aug. 28. If you are unable to attend and would like to review the information presented, a recording will be available for you to watch on demand. You can find it in the Asuris Activate Training & CE section of the Producer Resources page.
Three major changes are coming to Medicare Part D in 2025 because of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA):
- Medicare Part D coverage will have an out-of-pocket maximum of $2,000 for prescription drug costs for the plan year.
- The coverage gap (“donut hole”) phase will be eliminated.
- Members with Medicare Part D coverage can opt in to spread out their out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs over the course of the plan year. That means rather than paying a large copay for their drugs all at once, Medicare members can opt in to the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan (M3P) and make smaller monthly installments throughout the year. Details on how we will administer M3P and how our members can sign up will be shared in our AEP materials in late September.
- You can learn more by reviewing the Understanding the IRA's impact on Medicare Continuing Education course.
You must recertify to sell and receive commissions for 2025 MA and Part D products and to receive renewal commissions on existing MA business. You must complete the certification training by Sept. 16, 2024.
We only accept training from AHIP to satisfy the National Medicare and Fraud, Waste and Abuse training requirement. The national training and our training together satisfy the MA training requirements.
